04/14/2003. Remarks by Chris Pinn: "K6132 was the fourth production Gladiator and was manufactured in February/March 1937 as part of the initial order batch of 23 aircraft. These early aircraft were fitted with mountings which only allowed the installation of Lewis guns under the wings. Later aircraft were equipped with mountings which allowed the fitting of either Vickers, Lewis or Colt-Browning guns according to availability. Most of the aircraft from the first production batch were delivered to 72 Squadron at Church Fenton, England." |
