06/02/2003. Remarks by Chris Pinn: "N1380 was on the strength of No 102 (B) Squadron and was based at RAF Driffield, England in April 1940. N1380 DY-R is believed to have been the first RAF aircraft to drop bombs on an enemy land target in WW II during an attack on Hornum seaplane base at the island Sylt, Germany, on the night of March 19/20, 1940." |
