Three prototypes ordered to Specification F.18/39, first prototype
(R2492) flown at Wing, Buckinghamshire by Capt. Valentine Baker
(co-owner of the company) on August 31, 1942. The aircraft was lost
in a deadstick landing accident on September 12, 1942, killing Capt.
Baker. The second aircraft (R2496) flew as M.B.5 on May 23, 1944,
third was never built. |
