12/22/2006. Remarks by Jack McKillop: "This aircraft was delivered to the US Navy on February 19, 1936 for use by the Secretary of the Navy as a staff transport and based at Naval Air Station (NAS) Anacostia, Washington, D.C., USA. The aircraft was transferred to the RFC, the government agency charged with selling government assets, in September 1944. Between 1945 and 1979, it passed through numerous civilian companies and airlines until the mid-1990s when it was transferred to the New England Air Museum located on Bradley International Airport, Windsor Locks, Connecticut, USA. The aircraft is currently being restored in full view of the public in the civilian hangar." |
