Lett: "I bought this aircraft five years ago and spent two
years restoring it. It was originally owned by the Des Moines
Register Newspaper in Iowa, USA as N17657. It was impressed into the
USAAF in 1942 as C-71, s/n 42-38266, and returned in
1945. Later it was operated by Creole Petroleum Co."
