01/22/2007. Remarks by Phillip
Archer: "This aircraft was built in 1934 for the Newcastle
Aero Club, New South Wales, Australia. On July 22, 1940 it was
impressed into the RAAF and assigned to 4EFTS (Elementary Flying
Training School) as A7-90. On December 31, 1940 it was decided that
the aircraft would be reduced to spare parts.
This picture was lent to me by my friend, 86 year old Warren
Armstrong, who first soloed in this aircraft in 1937, and still
flies Tiger Moths today. An in Photoshop "hand-coloured"
photo to represent the aircraft as it was originally can be seen at
Ed Coates' aviation
web site."
