de Havilland D.H.60G III Moth Major

01/22/2007. Remarks by Phillip Archer: "This aircraft was built in 1934 for the Newcastle Aero Club, New South Wales, Australia. On July 22, 1940 it was impressed into the RAAF and assigned to 4EFTS (Elementary Flying Training School) serialed A7-90. On December 31, 1940 it was decided that the aircraft would be reduced to spare parts.

This picture was lent to me by my friend, 86 year old Warren Armstrong, who first soloed in this aircraft in 1937, and still flies Tiger Moths today. To represent the aircraft as it was originally, the photo has been "hand-colored" in Photoshop."
