It was converted to a Model 247D on September 6, 1935, and United Air Lines leased it to Western Air Express in 1936. In December 1938 it was sold to Pennsylvania Central Airlines, just two years later, January 31, 1941, it was resold to Western Airlines
It was impressed by the USAAF on July 19, 1942, as a C-73 with s/n 42-68853. It came on the civil registry in Mexico as XA-DUY on June 14, 1944, registered to Lineas Aeras Mineras, but not for long, as on August 1, 1945, it crashed into a mountain near San Luis Potosi, Mexico. All twelve aboard were killed."
