09/30/2011. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "Starting in 1963, the USAF has purchased 398 examples of the Cessna 185 Skywagon with the designations U-17A, U-17B and U-17C. Procurement included 266 U-17As and 123 U-17Bs with 300 hp Continental IO-520-D engine, and nine U-17Cs with O-470-L engine. These six-seat utility aircraft have been supplied to many countries eligible for aid under the US MAP, but were not operated by the USAF. Among the users of the U-17 were Bolivia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Iran, Laos, Liberia, Panama, Philippines, South Vietnam, Thailand, Turkey, and Uruguay."
