Remarks by Jack McKillop: "This Vanguard made its first flight on May 30, 1961 and was delivered to Trans Canada Air Lines (TCA) on June 16, 1961 registered CF-TKP with fleet number '916'. TCA was renamed Air Canada on June 1, 1964. The aircraft was sold to Lockheed Aircraft in December 1969 and placed in storage in England until sold to Air Holdings in August 1972; it was reregistered G-BAFK in October 1972.
It was then leased to Templewood Aviation, a brokerage firm who sub-leased it between November 1972 and March 1974 to the Indonesian airline Merpai Nusantara Airlines who registered it PK-MVR and named it 'Burug Dedali'. It was returned to Air Holdings as G-BAFK and sold to the British airline Invicta International Airlines in July 1974.
On October 10, 1975, it was sold to the French charter and cargo airline Europe Aero Service who registered it F-BXOG. In December 1979, the aircraft was withdrawn from service and placed in storage at Rivesaltes Airport, Perpignan, France and subsequently scrapped."
