This aircraft was built by Walter L. Brock from Chicago, Illinois, in 1916, using plans of the Morane-Saulnier Type H. Brock left Europe on the start of WW I, taken with him parts of the Type H he had been flying in the exhibition circuit. There is speculation on how much of the original Type H have been used. The Brock Monoplane has several differencies compared with the Type H: fuselage form, fitting of the wing, engine mounting, cockpit layout, landing gear, etc. Additional information at the Fantasy of Flight web site. |
