07/21/2007. This aircraft is an assembly of parts produced in 1918 and 1919, and according the NASM the aircraft did not serve in WW I. It has been restored in May 2000 and is painted to represent the aircraft flown by First Lieutenant James A. Meissner of the 94th ("hat-in-the-ring") Aero Squadron, USAAS, mid-1918.
