01/31/2008. Remarks by Mariano Arribillaga: "This aircraft was built as an A4D-2 for the USN, BuNo. 142688, and was delivered early 1958. Redesignated A-4B in 1962, it was one of the first batch of 25 sold to the Fuerza Aérea Argentina (Argentine AF) in 1966. The aircraft was refurbished by Douglas in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and redesignated A-4P it was delivered in October 1966. Two more batches were ordered, 25 A-4Bs (refurbished to A-4Ps) being delivered in 1970, and 25 A-4Cs being delivered in 1976. The Comando de Aviación Naval (Naval Air Command) of Argentina received 16 A-4Bs refurbished to A-4Qs.
C-207 took part in the Guerra de las Malvinas (Falklands War, April 2–June 14, 1982), being credited with the damaging of the frigate HMS Brilliant on May 12, 1982 and the sinking of the destroyer HMS Coventry on May 25, 1982 (flown on that occasion by Lt. Mariano Velazco). It is the A-4 with the longest period of service in the Argentine AF."
