02/28/2008. This was one of 34 aircraft built for the South African AF, s/n 352, and is was delivered on March 19, 1956. It was sold to the USA where it was registered in March 1983 to Flight Systems as N38301. After 1990 it came in private hands, owned respectively by actor Michael Dorn and former astronaut Frank Borman.

On March 29, 2002 it was reregistered as N186FS to Edward "Ed" H. Shipley, who has restored the aircraft and finished it in USAF colours with ficticious codes (47-1461/FU-461 was a Republic AP-23 P-84C-2-RE Thunderjet). Ed regularly flies it at air shows.
