06/15/2005. Remarks by
Nico Braas: "As a replacement for the Fokker D-XXI, the Finnish state factory Valtion designed a new fighter, largely based on the Fokker product. Like the D.XXI, it was of mixed construction with wooden wings and a welded steel tube fuselage covered with metal skinning forward and plywood skinning aft. The new fighter was named Myrsky (Storm); first flight was made in 1942. A small batch of 50 production fighters was manufactured for operational use at the Finnish air force, but the plane proved to be quite unpopular. On the picture, we see the Myrsky in a typical Finnish winter scene."
