First Gotha aircraft in fifteen years (end of WW I), two-seat training biplane designed by Dipl.-Ing.Kalkert. After removal of the flight controls the rear cockpit could be fitted with a MG 15 machine gun to train gunners.
About 10,000 were built in Germany (by Gotha, AGO, Focke-Wulf and BFW) and under licence in Spain (by CASA) and Turkey.
