04/30/2007. This aircraft was to be the I-302, a mixed-power interceptor,
power plants would be a rocket in the tail and 2 ramjets slung from the
wing. Two airframes were built, one was used for static tests, the
other was eventually flown as a glider (designated 302P, towed by a
Petlyakov Pe-2) for the first time in August 1943. The aircraft never
made a powered flight and the project was cancelled in March 1944. |
