Between April 1970 and July 1973 the Belgian AF received 63 Mirage 5 BA attack aircraft (s/n BA01 to BA63), 27 Mirage 5 BR tactical reconnaissance aircraft (s/n BR01 to BR27), and sixteen Mirage 5 BD two-seat trainers (s/n BD01 to BD16). All but the first example of each version were assembled in Belgium by SABCA with assistance from Fairey. The single-seat Mirage 5 BR was equipped with five Vinten type 360 cameras in nose. All 27 Mirage 5 BR were assigned to the 43rd Squadron of the 2nd Wing.
