01/31/2012. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "One of the 145 former USAF T-28As converted by Sud-Aviation at Saint-Nazaire, France into the Fennec (Dessert Fox). In short, the conversion was initiated by North American (NA-260) and Pac-Aero was licensed the perform the conversions. Under the designation T-28S-1, Pac-Aero licensed Sud-Aviation to modify the surplus aircraft, which were then named Fennec.
The pictured aircraft (ex USAF s/n 51-3677) was delivered to the French AF in 1960 and assigned to EALA 3/10 (Escadrilles d'Aviation Légères d'Appui, light air support squadron) which was based at Batna, Algeria, and used for counter-insurgency, observation, and ground forces support. In September 1966 it was sold to the Comando de Aviacion Naval Argentina (naval aviation command of Argentina) and given the s/n 0565. First coded "EAN-110", it was re-coded "1-A-283" in November 1968, it was withdrawn from use in 1977."
