Remarks by Jack McKillop: "This aircraft was delivered to Trans Australia Airlines (TAA) on October 8, 1948, registered VH-TAR and named 'RMA Thomas Mitchell'; it was subsequently named 'RMA John Roe'. Leased to Guinea Airways in 1958, it was renamed 'RMA William Dampier' when it was returned to TAA.
It was sold in the USA on November 25, 1959 to Beldex Corp. and registered N9314R and purchased by Monsanto Chemical Corp. in August 1960 and reregistered N2007. It was sold to General Dynamics in January 1965 and converted to a Model 600 in 1966 and sold to Stromberg Carlson Corp in February 1971. It passed through two additional owners and was sold to Aerolineas Colonia of Uruguay on April 12, 1976 and registered CX-BJL. It was withdrawn from use and stored at Colonia, Uruguay in December 1987 and was probably scrapped there."
