Remarks by Ed Coates: "This aircraft as described in the May 1936 issue of Popular Aviation magazine as a 'Revolving Wing Airplane.' In truth, the 'wing' to which they refer is merely a fabric covered airscrew. The other photo shows it being built in 1935 and depicts the props to their best advantage. They claim it flew at 100 mph (161 kmh) at 600 ft (183 m) over Denver Airport. Power was a 215 hp Lycoming, geared down to provide a 250-350 rpm for the props." |
