08/12/2006. Remarks by Jack McKillop: "This aircraft was delivered to British European Airways Corp. (BEA) on December 18, 1952, registered G-AMAE and named "Earl of Essex". It was then purchased by Butler Air Transport of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, on June 6, 1957 and they reregistered it VH-BUK on October 19, 1957.

Nine-months later, it was sold to Dan-Air Services Ltd. of Blackbushe, England, on September 13, 1959 and reregistered G-AMAE on November 12, 1959. The aircraft was placed in storage at Lasham, Hampshire, England in June 1971 and subsequently scrapped." View also the History Brief .
