The front aircraft 489812 was delivered under Lend-Lease to the Armée de l'Air Française in March 1945. It was subsequently operated by the following units:

Escadron d'Entraînement Opérationnel et de Calibration 1/17, at Oran-La Sénia, Algeria. On June 21, 1955 it was involved in an accident at Telergma, Algeria.
Groupe de Chasse I/1 at Aix-en-Provence, France.
Groupe Marche 1/21 Artois.
Escadron de Chasse 2/20 "Ouarsenis" at Boufarik, Algeria.
Escadron de Chasse 1/20 "Aurès-Nementha" (coded "20-LO") at Oran-La Sénia.

For international flights the radio call sign "FTFLO" was used."
