Douglas DC-4 C-54E Skymaster

Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "Manufactured by Douglas Aircraft, Santa Monica, California, USA, as a C-54E-20-DO, this aircraft was delivered on June 19, 1945, to the USAAF 503rd AAF Base Unit (Air Transport Command), Washington National Airport, Washington, D.C. For a period of time it was General Dwight Eisenhower's personal transport, named Sunflower II.

In 1954 it was converted to a VC-54E and subsequently assigned to the USAF Europe, where it served till March 1971, when it was assigned to the US Military Training Mission (USAFE), Dhahran Airport, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. In 1972 it was transferred to the MASDC, where it was listed as CC0218 on July 11. Bought by Dross Metals on November 6, 1975, it was dropped from the inventory in February 1976 and subsequently broken up."
