04/30/2007. Remarks by Jack
McKillop: "This aircraft made its first flight on December
21, 1989, with the test registration PH-EXR. It had been ordered by
the Australian carrier Ansett Airlines and the registration VH-FND
reserved but the order was cancelled, so was an order by the
Tanzanian Government.
It was purchased by the German airline DLT (Deutsche
Luftverkehrsgesellschaft) and delivered on March 24, 1990 registered
D-AFKH. In June 1990, it was purchased by Lufthansa Leasing Co. and
leased back to DLT. DLT was renamed Lufthansa CityLine in 1992. This
aircraft was sold to another leasing company who leased it to the
Spanish carrier Air Nostrum in April 1995 and reregistered
EC-868; it was reregistered EC-GBG in July 1995.
It was purchased by the Belgian company VLM (Vlaamse
Luchttransportmaatschappij) on December 20, 1996 and the lease to the
Spanish company was renewed until it was returned to the lessor on
February 8, 2001. By the time it was returned to VLM, that company had
established VLM Airlines and it had been purchased by the Frevag
Group. The Frevag Group leased it to VLM Airlines on March 29, 2001
and as of this date, the aircraft is still in service with that
carrier."
