McDonnell Douglas 98NQ F-4F Phantom II

05/31/2008. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "Derived from the F-4E, the F-4F-54-MC was manufactured solely for the German AF and 175 were delivered between September 1973 and April 1976. The pictured aircraft was built under the USAF serial 72-1145 and accepted in 1974, it flew mainly with JG 74 'Mölders' at Neuburg, Zell. Later it was assigned to the Fluglehrzentrum (flight training center) at Hopsten AB.

For some time in 2002 and 2003 it was used as a mailplane between Hopsten and a German attachment at Decimomannu, Sardinia, Italy.

It had its tail plane marked as an airmail envelope. The aircraft was scrapped in 2004."
