03/31/2011. Remarks by Jack McKillop: "This aircraft was originally a Douglas Model DC-3A-456, ordered by the USAAF as a C-47B-20-DK Skytrain, s/n 43-49942 and was delivered on January 20, 1945. Ten days later, it was transferred under Lend-Lease to the RAF at Montreal, Quebec, Canada as a Dakota Mk.IV, s/n KN270. It arrived in the UK on March 7, 1945 and served there until assigned to the RCAF and arriving in Canada on April 1, 1946. Still in service in 1970, it was redesignated with the Canadian Armed Forces as CC-129 and reserialed 12909 on June 26, 1970.

Struck off charge on November 6, 1974, it was sold to the Ontario Central Airlines of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada on January 8, 1976, registered C-GCKE and used primarily for charter services. It was sold to Nunasi-Northland Airlines of Red Lake, Ontario in the 1980s and leased to Perimeter Airlines of Winnipeg. It was then sold to Calm Air International of Thompson, Manitoba in February 1987. In 1988, it was sold to Aviation Boreal of Bal d'Or, Quebec and they sold it to Sabourin Lake Airways of Sabourin Lake, Manitoba on September 27, 1995. It was deregistered on November 12, 1998.

The aircraft returned to the US on November 24, 1998 and was registered N595AM by the Highland Lakes Squadron of the Confederate AF (CAF) at Burnet, Texas. The Confederate Air Force was renamed Commemorative Air Force in 2002. It was donated to the Commemorative Air Force's Airpower Heritage Museum in Midland, Texas on February 4, 2003, and registered N47HL. The aircraft is still on the register and marked as USAAF C-47 ca. 1941."
