Douglas AD-4NA Skyraider

01/31/2011. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "The pictured aircraft was produced for the USN in 1952 as an AD-4N Skyraider under the BuNo. 126959. In service it was stripped of all night attack gear to enable heavier bomb loads, and it was redesignated AD-4NA. It was transferred to the French AF on December 7, 1960, serialed 50. Sixteen years later it was transferred to the Chad AF on April 7, 1976.

Dedier Chable of Melun, France bought the aircraft in August 1988, and the following year it was registered F-AZFP.The aircraft returned to the USA when Don Hanna of Chancellor Air at Costa Mesa, California acquired the aircraft in September 1989. Presently the aircraft is with California Warbirds of Carson City, Nevada, wearing a livery representing a USAF A-1D from the 1960s, and the fake tail code 26-959."
