Boeing 707-320B E-6A Mercury

12/22/2006. Remarks by Jack McKillop: "This aircraft was built as an E-6A and was delivered to the US Navy on October 10, 1989. The Navy has 16 E-6s and uses them for the Take Charge and Move Out (TACAMO) role, i.e., a platform for long-range communications between Naval headquarters and ballistic missile submarines. The aircraft has HF, VHF and UHF radio equipment and can trail a 26,000 ft (7,925 m) long-wire antenna from the tail cone. This particular aircraft is on loan to Boeing-Wichita and serves as a test aircraft."
