04/30/2008. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "Built in 1968 this heavy-lift helicopter was registered N6962R. It was substantially damaged on July 3, 1970, at Union City, Tennessee. After placing a load at the roof of a building, both engines ingested plastic causing flameouts and complete loss of power. The following forced landing ended on top of the just released load and there was a post-impact fire.
Sometime after rebuilt, the aircraft was registered in Ecuador as HC-CAT, on return to the USA it was registered again as N6962R. Using a detachable 2,650 gal (10,031 l) tank the aircraft is often used as a firefighter, it is listed as Tanker number 747."
