05/31/2010. Remarks by
Johan Visschedijk: "The aircraft is bearing the markings of the 25th Liaison Squadron. While attached to the 71st Tactical Reconnaissance Group, 5th Air Force, it became the first liaison squadron in the Pacific theatre, and started operations in New Guinea in 1943. Main tasks were Search-And-Rescue, retrieving wounded, drop food and supplies to ground units or deliver mail and supplies. Doing so the aircraft were hopping from one to another improvised landing strip, and the squadron became known as the "Guinea Short Lines" and their logo became a hopping Kangaroo."
