11/30/2006. Remarks by Bill Ewing: "Delivered to the USAAF as C-47B-15-DK Skytrain s/n 43-49380 in November 1944, and subsequently transferred to the RCAF, s/n 979 and designated Dakota Mk.IVM. In 1965 it was converted to a NASAAR (North American Search and Range Radar) trainer for CF-104 pilots. It had a ground power unit added to provide power for the radar and student stations, and the 104 radar and nose cone as pictured.
On July 26, 1970 it was redesignated CC-129 and reserialed 12959. When we got her at squadron, all of NASAAR equipment was stripped out, the wiring alone weighed 800 lb (363 kg).
Finally it was struck off charge on April 14, 1989 and the aircraft is now on display at Cold Lake Air Park, Medley Air Base, Alberta, Canada."
