03/31/2008. Remarks by Bill Ewing: "This was one of 1,035 model D18S produced after WW II. The RCAF bought 280 of them designated as Expeditor Mk.3, they all had dual c/n assigned in the A- and CA- series.

The aircraft was delivered to the RCAF as a Mk.3NM on March 17, 1952, on November 12, 1954, it was loaned to the RCN, retaining the RCAF s/n 1510. The photo was taken when it was assigned to VC-920 Naval Reserve Squadron, HMCS York, Toronto, Ontario, from November 25, 1960 to August 28, 1961, as indicated by the code 904. Note the addition of a Day-Glo red stripe across nose, on wing tips, horizontal stabilizer, and vertical fins.

The aircraft became an instructional airframe in August 1961, and was struck off charge on March 7, 1967, and subsequently sold to the Newfoundland Provincial Government, for use as training aid at the District Vocational School at Gander, Newfoundland. Presently it is preserved at the North Atlantic Aviation Museum, Gander, displayed with the fake serial C-FVPK."
