This aircraft was built as a de Havilland D.H.114 Heron 2B (c/n 14087) and was delivered to the South African AF in 1955, s/n 121. In 1964 it was sold to the UK and registered as G-ASUU till it was sold to Saunders of Montreal, Quebec, Canada in June 1971; it was registered as CF-YBM. After the conversion to ST-28 it was reregistered as C-FYBM (new c/n 005) and flew for the first time on July 18, 1974. A production batch of 15 aircraft was started, however none was ready when in 1976 production was halted due to delays in certification and financial backing was withdrawn.
