07/21/2007. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "Influenced by the DC-3 this type was designed by Guiseppe Gabrielli and the first flight was mage in 1935. The first three G.18s, all powered by two 700 hp Fiat A.59 radial engines were delivered to Avio Linee Italiane (ALI). A further six G.18Vs, powered by two 1,000 hp Fiat A.80 radial engines, were also delivered to ALI."
