Curtiss 34O P-1C Hawk

01/31/2010. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "On October 3, 1928, the USAAC ordered its largest single quantity of Curtiss pursuits to date: 33, s/n 29-227 to 29-259. These were delivered, from April 1929 on, as P-1Cs. Once again the weight increased and the performance decreased. It was powered by a 435 hp Curtiss V-1150-3 engine, it had larger wheels fitted with brakes, and it carried an armament of two 0.3 in (7.62 mm) guns.

One P-1C (29-238) was fitted with an experimental Heinrich radiator and Prestone cooling system, being re-designated XP-1C."
