Republic AP-10 P-47G Thunderbolt

05/31/2007. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "Built in 1942 by Curtiss as a P-47G-10-CU and was delivered to the USAAF, s/n 42-25068. It was sold in 1946 and changed hands several times. In 1975 a restoration was started at Tulsa, Oklahoma, and finished at Elkhart, Indiana. While it was registered as N42354 in May 1981, it was reregistered N47DG in February 1982 before it made its second maiden flight in April 1982.

The aircraft is wearing the livery of a P-47D-5-RE, s/n 42-8476 and named Little Demon, that flew with 353rd FG, 351st FS, USAAF, in the UK during WW II. That aircraft was shot down by Flak while attacking Ostheim airfield, Germany, on February 22, 1944. The pilot became a POW.

On February 20, 2006 this aircraft was registered as G-CDVX to The Fighter Collection at Duxford, UK, where it arrived in May. Presently it is at Chino, California, USA, for restoration."
