North American NA-108 TB-25N Mitchell

06/18/2007. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "This aircraft was built as a B-25J-15-NC and delivered to the USAAF in 1944, s/n 44-28932. It was withdrawn from use and stored at Davis-Monthan AFB, Arizona, USA, in December 1958. On June 12, 1959 it was sold to Earl "Red" Dodge of Anchorage, Alaska and registered as N3476G; it was converted to a fire tanker in May 1962. In 1964 it was registered to Robert P. Schlaefli, Port Orchard, Washington.

On November 6, 1985 the aircraft was registered by the Collings Foundation, Stowe, Massachusetts and was finished in the colour scheme as shown above. It crashed at Minute Man Field, Stowe, on June 10, 1987. After being rebuilt the aircraft was transferred to Houston Hobby Airport, Texas and operated by Collings Foundation West. In August 2002 the aircraft received a new paint scheme and was renamed Tondelayo."
