Bell 33 P-63C Airacobra

09/30/2014. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "This aircraft was built by Bell under the USAAF serial 44-4425. Intended for Lend-Lease, it apparently never left the USA and it was purchased by Charles Tucker from the disposal facility at Kingman, Arizona, after WW II had ended. With 12 ft 7 in (3.835 m) clipped from the original 38 ft 4 in (11.684 m) wing span and registered NX62995, the aircraft was entered in the 1946 Thompson Trophy race under the Race number 28. On December 6, 1948, the aircraft was sold to Russ Hosler of Hosler Aircraft Corp., Cleveland, Ohio. It was deregistered on February 15, 1956."
