02/28/2008. The Knight Twister was designed by Vernon Payne, who
founded the Knight Twister company to sell plans and kits of his
designs. Construction of this aircraft was started in 1947 by Max
Menti of Klamath Falls in Oregon, it was finished by W. H. Braley of
Stockton, California, fitted with a 90 hp Franklin and registered as
N2580D. Fast taxi runs indicated that the airplane was too tricky to
fly, it was subsequently dismantled and stored. |
