Source unknown
02/28/2008. Produced by the Viking Flying Boat Company of New Haven, Connecticut in 1931, this three-seat aircraft was was originally fitted with Edo floats. It was substantially
damaged near Westboro, Massachusetts on June 24, 1973. Due to failing
master rod cap bolts of the Kinner K-5 engine, the propeller separated
in flight and in the following emergency landing in a corn field, the
landing gear collapsed when the aircraft rolled through the fields
furrows. The pilot (sole occupant) escaped injuries. The aircraft has
since been repaired and is still at the registry as of this day.
