04/30/2019. Remarks by Kees Kort: "One of the later versions of the Goupy No. 1 Triplane, which compared to the original version of October 1908 was heavily modified. A completely new set of wings is mounted here. Completely closed at the sides and a lot more massive than the original. Also the fuselage is mounted in another way as the lower wing is underneath the fuselage. Another engine was fitted, the 50 hp Antoinette which needed a big radiator which can be seen between the top and the middle wing. The engine inside the fuselage drives the propeller via a long rod.
Although all the rework, the Goupy No. 1 never left the ground. The success came with the Goupy No. 2 biplane."
