Handley Page H.P.67 Hastings T.Mk.5

10/31/2013. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "The radome below the fuselage indicates this is a Hastings T.Mk.5. Built in 1948 as a Hastings C.Mk.1, it was immediately converted to a Hastings Met.Mk.1 weather reconnaissance version. With 202 Squadron Coastal Command based at RAF Aldergrove it flew long meteorology observation flights over the North Atlantic.

In April 1959 it was delivered to Airwork Ltd. at Blackbushe and converted to a Hastings T.Mk.5 bomber-crew trainer, being delivered back to the RAF in April 1960. It was withdrawn from service on June 30, 1977 and subsequently transported to the Special Air Services (SAS) headquarters at Hereford. It was used for training SAS and specialist police units releasing hostages from hi-jacked aircraft."
