Beagle-Auster D.4/108

03/31/2011. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "The D.4/108 was a development of the J/2 powered by an 108 hp Lycoming O-235-C1. Auster Aircraft flew the prototype (c/n 3601) marked with the 'Class B' registration G-25-8 on February 12, 1960. On September 7 of that year Auster Aircraft became Beagle-Auster (Beagle = British Executive and General Aviation Ltd.), in 1962 Auster was dropped from the company name.

G-ARLG was the sixth D.4/108 built, first registered on April 4, 1961, and still still is as of this day. A total of 41 were built of the type, including 9 assembled in Portugal by OGMA (Oficinas Gerais de Material AeronŠutico) at Alverca do Ribatejo."
