05/31/2008. In early 1937 the RLM issued a requirement for a reconnaissance aircraft, and Richard Vogt of the Hamburger Flugzeugbau (HFB) submitted an asymmetrical design, the Ha 141-0. Although not selected, HFB proceeded with the design as a private venture.

On January 1, 1938, HFB was renamed Blohm & Voss, and with the first flight on February 25, 1938, the aircraft was designated Bv 141. Progress was slow and in all 23 aircraft were built, 13 prototypes, and 5 preproduction aircraft each of the Bv 141 A and Bv 141 B versions.

The pictured aircraft was one the prototypes of the Bv 141 B version, and was first flown in January 1941.
