09/30/2007. Remarks by Jack McKillop: "This aircraft was built as a Model 1049G-03-124 and delivered to Thai Airways of Bangkok, Thailand, on August 29, 1957 registered HS-TCB. This was one of three 1049Gs delivered and they were intended to be used on international routes to Tokyo, Japan; Rangoon, Burma; and Calcutta, India; but were found to be too expensive to operate and it sat at Bangkok beginning in early 1958.
It was sold to the Mexican airline Guest Aerovias Mexico of Mexico City on September 15, 1959, registered XA-NAD and delivered in November 1959. The aircraft was leased to Aerovias Panama Airways SA of Panama City, Panama, as HP-280 in 1959 but they were infrequently used and were returned in February 1960.
On April 26, 1961, it was sold to Southern Aircraft Holdings Ltd. of Nassau, Bahamas and was immediately leased to Transportes Aereos Portugueses (TAP) of Lisbon Portugal, and registered CS-TLE in May 1961. It was immediately placed in service until withdrawn from service in June 1967 and placed in storage at Miami, Florida, USA.
It was registered N833D on July 5, 1968 by International Aerodyne Inc. of Miami, Florida. It was sold to Air Cargo Operations on March 6, 1969 and to Leasing Consultants on June 5, 1969. It remained in storage at Miami for two years until restored to International Aerodyne and put up for sale. It was sold to Constellation Air Leasing of Williamsville, New York, and placed in storage at Buffalo, New York on March 16, 1972. It passed through several owners until stripped for spare parts in December 1976 and scrapped in 1977."
