Gary Hebbard: "This is the latest offering by Lockheed Martin to the civilian market, their LM-100J. Aside from the flashy paint job my eye was caught by the "experimental" designation over the forward crew door, something you don't see every day. I suspected it might be here for testing as we have some interesting weather here, including frequent wind shear and heavy fog. Also, the landing system here was recently upgraded to cat III.

However, then it became clear the type was brand-new and the prototype had first flown only three weeks earlier, May 25, 2017. Hence the “experimental" as the aircraft still had no
CofA. It made a refueling stop before the trip across the Atlantic to be statically displayed at the Paris Air Show at Le Bourget, France, from June 17 to 23.
