01/22/2007. Remarks by Jack McKillop: "This aircraft made its first flight on January 27, 1970 and was delivered to the British airline Court Line Aviation on February 11, 1970 registered G-AXMI and named 'Halcyon Days'. The aircraft was repossessed by BAC in September 1974 and sold to Dan-Air London in March 1975. In 1992, it was sold to a leasing company who immediately leased it to British Air Ferries (BAF); BAF reregistered it G-OBWD on January 14, 1993 and the company was renamed British World Airways on April 6, 1993 and this aircraft was named 'City of Bucharest'. Between 1995 and 2000, it was sub-leased to the Belgian airline SABENA, the Spanish regional airline Air Nostrum, the British airline Debonair and the Irish airline CityJet. It was withdrawn from service on November 8, 2000 and placed in storage at Southend Airport, Essex, England." |
