12/15/2005. Remarks by John Hopton: "This aircraft was built for the RAF, s/n H1248. Struck off charge it was sold to Australia and registered as G-AUEB. After service with Q.A.N.T.A.S., the aircraft was taken to New Guinea for work in the goldfields. As seen here, assembly is almost completed. With the de Havilland D.H.9 G-AUFS, G-AUEB was the first aircraft to fly south to north across Papua-New Guinea." |
