It was transferred to the RAAF on August 27, 1942, s/n A50-34. The aircraft was severely damaged at RAAF Evans Head, New South Wales, on April 7, 1945, when the hangar it was stored in collapsed during a cyclone. It was struck off charge on April 19, 1945.
It came on the civil registry as VH-AHD on October 30, 1946. Due to an engine failure on take off at Broadmeadow on December 8, 1951, a forced landing was made near the airfield and the aircraft was damaged when it hit obstructions. The following May 5, the aircraft was struck from the register. Being rebuilt it came on the register again four years later, May 15, 1956. The aircraft had five consecutive owners, the last was David J. MacGibbon of Brisbane, Queensland, on November 2, 1979. Withdrawn from service the aircraft was deregistered December 21, 1981, subsequently a long-term restoration started. MacGibbon had it registered again as VH-AED on August 19, 2002, on February 19, 2006 it was registered back to the original VH-AHD."
