Martin 130

04/30/2009. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "First of the transpacific Pan American Airways Clippers, only three of these flying boats were produced, the other two were NC14714 c/n 556 'Hawaii Clipper' and NC14716. NC14715 was delivered in November 1935, in 1942 it was impressed into service with the USN, and was allotted BuNo. 48230, but no new designation.

It was lost on January 21, 1943, when it flew into a mountain at 2,500 ft (762 m) near Boonville, California, while en route from Honolulu, Hawaii to San Francisco, California. All nine crew and nineteen passengers were killed."
